E-Mail Setup Instructions

(Microsoft Outlook 97)

  1. Close "Outlook 97".
  2. Make sure you have "Outlook 97 SR-1" or you will need to download an update patch from Microsoft.
  3. Select "START", "Settings", "Control Panel".
  4. Double Click the "Mail" icon.
  5. Select the "Internet E-mail" information service.
  6. Click on the "Properties" button.
  7. Select the "General" tab and make sure all information is correct.
  8. Select the "Servers" tab and check the following:
    1. "Incoming Mail (POP3)" is set to "mail.shconsulting.com"
    2. "Outgoing Mail (SMTP)" is set to "Whatever your ISP provided"
    3. "Account Name" is set to the username you were assigned by S&H Consulting
    4. "Password" is set to the password you were assigned by S&H Consulting
    5. "Remember Password" should be checked
  9. IMPORTANT ... If you changed any of the above information and you are using "Norton Anti-Virus", you will need to let "Norton" configure your E-Mail protection again !
  10. The "Connection" and "Advanced" should not need any modifications.
